My One-Dish-Wonder

“I’m so hungry I could eat my own cooking.”

I am imagining a few of the “Pinterest Failures” in my head right now. If you do not understand what I am referring to, go ahead and search this online. It will be well worth your time. Hilarious!

There are times when you may be so hungry that these cooking disasters look appetizing. Who hasn’t felt those pains before—here is a blog post about hanger.

This is not recommended, for obvious reasons!

Even if you are not comfortable in an apron and your cooking is far from fabulous, I believe a home-cooked meal is the way to go. That can be a HUGE task for many people, so how can you keep it simple? When I am crunched for time and still want to prepare a semi-nutritious meal, I like to create a “one-dish-wonder.” It may not be pretty, but it gets the job done.

A few of my favorites include the following:

Chicken-Broccoli-Mac & Cheese

Beef- Goulash- Chunky (zucchini, carrots, peppers, onions) Veggies

Stir Fry Chicken-Brown Rice-Snap Peas & Broccoli

Fajita Peppers & Onions-Lean Steak-Tortilla

Spinach-Cheese-Fruit-Nuts-Vinaigrette Dressing

Roasted Chicken-Red Potatoes-Green Beans

Eventually, you may end up not needing to be SO hungry to eat your own cooking! You may just enjoy it!

Start simple. A semi-home-cooked meal is a step in the right direction. What “wonders” have you created at home?
