“I wish complaining about my diet burned calories.”
I wish this were so, as well. Healthy eating and exercise are NOT easy. At. All. Especially when you see such a slooooooooow rate of weight loss. I have two comments regarding this.
1. Weight loss is slow if you are actually losing weight and not water. Losing water is easier than losing weight. Losing weight takes effort. Your efforts will hopefully pay off at the rate of ½-2 pounds of weight loss per week. Slow and steady wins the race.
A helpful hint for those of you at this snail’s (and correct) pace—do not compare yourself to others. Comparing yourself to others will only cause you to be more distressed about your weight.
Set your own goals and make them realistic.
2. Weight loss is a two-way street. Calories in can be controlled through eating healthy, and Calories out can be increased through exercise. Woofta. Exercise can be tough. I do know, however, that without exercise and decreasing total calories per day only, you are pumping those brakes on your metabolism. Complaining may not burn Calories, but I would bet exercise may!
