“You better cut the pizza in four pieces because I’m not hungry enough to eat six.”
Imagine you have ordered a large pizza with all your favorite toppings (the works for me!). You are sitting at the table across from your edible date. You eat a slice of the pizza. Tasty. Take another, and another. Still delicious. I am guessing the fourth and fifth and sixth slices will be just as good. You give it a shot and finish the pizza. Yes, each piece was just as good as the first, and even better, you didn’t even have to leave your seat to get more.
Twenty minutes later, you are not feeling so hot. Or rather, you are feeling temperature-hot, stuffy, bloated and rotten. Pizza may have not been the problem; the problem may have been the amount.
It is tough to enjoy these sorts of foods in such small amounts, how can you maintain control?
First, consider putting a slice or two on your plate and leave the box in the kitchen. See how you feel after two pieces. Even better, put the leftovers in the refrigerator in pre-portioned containers. Even better, start your meal with a decked out salad with lots of veggies. Even better, start your salad with a glass of water. Even better, make sure you start your meal when you are not ravenous, otherwise, each hand will likely have a piece of pizza and hands will soon become shovels. Set yourself up for success, you may not be hungry for all six pieces!
