“Let’s face it, a nice creamy chocolate cake does a lot for a lot of people; it does for me.”
– Audrey Hepburn
I like chocolate cake.
Ice cream on the side, yes please. But please don’t let my cake and ice cream touch. Then you have soggy, chocolate cake.
So you ate the cake. And by cake I mean half the entire chocolate sheet cake. Was the cake still good? Or are you going to be rotting on the couch for the next 6 hours recovering from this experience? I would imagine the chocolate cake would’ve been just as tasty if you’d have eaten one piece. And by piece, I mean 2” by 2”. And by eaten I mean savored: smelled, small bites, let it sit in your mouth, take a couple breaths between bites, and let it really soak in. The point being, food can definitely make you feel better.
It will be the type of food though, not the amount.
And to top that, I’d imagine you would feel pretty good about yourself if you managed to maintain such good portion control. Now for the saying, “You can’t make your cake and eat it too,” I will never understand.
